Lego Gunship

This is a little project I have been working on over easter, by making a lego gunship steampunk style, though it's still a working progress, it's not quite finished yet but it is looking good so far.

Lego Gunship continued

Origami continued

Should have put these up a while ago but here are the paper cranes i made in contribution to an event charity for the disaster in Japan in RLB.

Hmm too big...?

Figured that maybe I should start doing images at a much smaller scale, since I'm finding that drawing big is too time consuming and a smaller scale may help me focus an image rather than have it all spaced out and losing detail or something like that anyways I shall see how that goes.

In addition I have been inspired by artist Skottie Young who Pete showed was doing a two/three week long sketch project on the Star Wars films from episode 4-6, so being a big star wars fan and wanting to try and do some actual star wars drawings I feel like doing this also once I have finished all uni projects for the year.

Crazy Dream

I had this dream where I and 'Trouble' were living in the 30's prohibition era, and of course in the times of the public enemy era. And we in a 2 party gang where we bootlegged and robbed banks with tommy guns and revolvers, and escape in our classy getaway car. Pretty much a Bonnie and Clyde fantasy, and as soon as I woke up I felt compelled to draw us in our attires and i feel it has been one of my best drawings yet.

So much owed by so many to so few...

Watched the classic British film 'Battle of Britain' with Michael Caine, and of course wanted to draw from the film. Though I was drawing Michael Caine, it doesn't look like him, but to me that is fine as I only wanted to draw a WWII Spitfire pilot which I think turned out quite well. Also good film.

Yul Byrnner

Did this sketch of Yul Brynner from 'The Magnificent Seven' film. I loved his character who was clearly a typical American hero type figure, who was strong, level headed and also had some wisdom and of course a strong leader figure. Huzzah!

cowboys again

These are some sketches I did during my life drawing project to keep me more enthused about western themed drawings. And I got really into drawing characters with hard expressive faces and squinty eyes. It was fun to do though now I have the need to draw 20's gangsters which shall be the centre of focus for my next uni project.

More Sketches...

Been a while since I have updated this blog with my latest drawings so here is a sketch of a mafia member in all his fedora glory that I did on the train back home for Easter. Though I never did get round to finishing it because of the short journey home, and in some way I prefer it not to be finished.
